Our vineyards are our family, and a true labor of love. Originally a charming apple orchard, we knew the ground was made for growing and hired consultants from Robert Mondavi Winery to see which varietals would be best suited for the land. With goals of responsible, sustainable farming, we then planted merlot, zinfandel and cabernet sauvignon without the use of pesticides or herbicides. With the help of Santana Vineyard Management, our vineyards have grown and thrived. We could not be more proud of the outstanding wines born of these beautiful vines grown in the foothills of Mt. Diablo.
The name Glennhawk is a combination of my first name and Linda’s maiden name. We are blessed to have been married for over 60 years and to have seen our dreams come true by having a loving family and many dear friends around the world. We are both from Nebraska originally and were born and raised on farms in our early childhood. The farming genes from our ancestors obviously stuck with us.
We invite you to enjoy Glennhawk Wines and wish you good times and health throughout life.
Glenn and Linda Novotny, Vintners and Owners,
Glennhawk Winemaking
Glennhawk’s holistic ethos begins with a respect for the land and soil, and carries into the finessing of the grapes and the creation of our wines. Our winemaking approach emphasizes character and balance. The terroir elements expressed within the unique personalities of each varietal, further defined by the individual growing seasons, all combine to create luscious, singular wines of depth and flavor. We invite you to enjoy the fruits of our labor from our home vineyard nestled in the hills of Mt. Diablo. And to make the wines even more special, we invite our Club Members, family and friends to help harvest grapes followed by a party and brunch.
